STEM Education Opportunities

Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning is proud to offer funding opportunities for STEM faculty. The goal of these opportunities is to allow STEM faculty to have additional resources to experiment in their pedagogy and to help better support the needs of STEM students at George Mason University. STEM faculty includes all faculty engaging students in topics of science, technology, engineering and/or math. STEM education opportunities are not limited to CEC and COS.

STEM Education Programming

Our STEM Education Programming at the Stearns Center is designed to empower faculty, graduate students, and staff across George Mason University to enhance their teaching practice, collaborate with peers, and engage in innovative approaches to STEM education. Through a variety of structured and flexible opportunities, we support effective teaching, learning, and assessment in STEM disciplines.
  • The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is a faculty development curriculum that scaffolds learning experiences for new and continuing faculty of all ranks and graduate instructors of record across all disciplines.       • These one-hour workshops are ideal for instructors who are new to college teaching and want to learn the foundations of effective teaching as well as experienced instructors who want to implement new strategies.
