Joining Online Organizations to Broaden Your Online Network

Mason has memberships where you can connect to other online faculty and course designers

Digital Learning in Mason’s Stearns Center supports institutional membership in two national organizations where faculty and staff can network with peers from other universities, attend free webinars, access numerous online resources and get member discounts to conferences and other events. In both cases, you can create a free membership and then connect to Mason’s institutional membership for full benefits.

Online Learning Consortium

Institutional OLC member

OLC (formerly the Sloan Consortium) provides fee webinars on a wide range of topics and provides many free resources on their website. OLC is one of the nation’s largest member organizations focusing on online teaching and learning, including from the perspectives of instructors, designers, administrators, student support providers and more. It is a great source of networking opportunities, hosts two national conferences and regional events and offers numerous online workshop and certificate programs. The Stearns Center does not provide funding for paid events, but your membership affiliated with our institutional membership entitles you to member pricing on all resources and services. You can review member benefits and find instructions on how to join on the OLC Member Resources site.

TLT Group

The TLT Group addresses a broad array of topics related to online learning as well as other applications of teaching and learning technologies.
